We use a system of commonly used words called Fry words. Here you will find lists separated into groups of 100. They are called sight words because we need to be able to recognize them quickly, and they don't always follow the rules we expect them to! The more sight words we learn, the better we can read.

We have based the Learning Menu suggestions on a list of Learning Skills that have been taught and continually practiced throughout the year. We have added new skills that can be practiced easily from home as they are skills we use in our everyday life: measurement, money counting, concepts of time, as well as parts of a story and story writing.
